The Port Authority and Dept of Environment advises boaters using the South Sound channel to exercise caution as the catamaran that wrecked west of the channel has apparently disintegrated and current may wash parts of it into the channel. Boaters are therefore advised to proceed into and out of the channel with caution until it has been deemed safe and debris free.
