PORT AUTHORITY TAKES PROACTIVE MEASURES IN PREPARATION OF POTENTIAL SEVERE WEATHER
A weather warning has been issued and The Port Authority has been proactively
securing all Port property in the event of potential severe weather. The tropical low (Invest 97L) has now been named Tropical Storm Matthew and may potentially reach hurricane status (please refer to below text for further details).
All valued customers are requested to collect their cargo from the Cargo Distribution Centre no later than this Friday, 30th September 2016.
All residents are urged to pay close attention to weather developments due to its forecasted path.

Pre-Formation Advisory for Invest 97L: A tropical low (Invest 97L) continues to become better organized east of the Lesser Antilles. 97L is forecast to enter the eastern Caribbean during the next 24 hours with a very high chance of becoming a tropical system during that time. 97L should track along the southern periphery of a high pressure ridge during the first 72 hours. An upper level trough may swing through the western Atlantic thereafter and pull 97L more northerly. Environmental conditions will also favour intensification across the Caribbean potentially to hurricane status.
