Cayman Port Introduces Electronic Website Payments

06 October, 2017

The Port Authority of the Cayman Islands has introduced online payment capability for faster cargo clearance in Grand Cayman. Until now, this was restricted to accounts with pre-cleared credit only. Following these enhancements, companies and residents of Cayman can pay port fees using their Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card.

The online payment facility makes “the process faster and easier, reducing the time that importers need to spend on administration related to their shipment”. Melissa Ebanks, Deputy Director & Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are delighted that this functionality is up and running, this is a great component for our website and will make the process more efficient for Cayman businesses and residents to get their cargo cleared through the Port.”

In order to pay port fees online, users simply need to register for an online account via the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands website: www.caymanport.com/new-user-sign-up-request/.
